Re-download of a programme I already have in 'flashvhigh", re-downloaded as "flashhd"Ī helpful hint you have probably worked out already.
I checked my Get Iplayer downloads and all programmes I have are "flashvhigh" so I have swapped the names around in preferences to see if it will download Flash HD in preference. In the UK using the computer version of iPlayer you can stream a programme in HD (after live broadcast) and that quality seems to much better than the quality you get when you download a programme using Get-Iplayer-Automator. I do like the app interface better than the command line, and hopefully know I now about the proxy issue there will be no problems. I wish I'd been able to find that earlier, but I did figure it out in the end. Could those controls be a factor ?Īttachment: Independent test - Independent test - Independent test - PastedGraphic.Thank You. Then, I had to supply a UK postcode (perhaps because I gave an Australian e-mail address). However, I had to register and login to ITV Player. I did that using Hola Unblocker for Firefox. I have been able to watch ITV programs by streaming. I believe that OS X 10.9 does weird caching things with preferences and other files, which could be worth checking. I'll try again with a 1.5 version but first I'll completely remove all GiA files (especially preferences). A couple of days ago, I tried v1.6.1 but, got the same problem. Open the verbose log and look for a line similar to: DEBUG: RTMPDump command: /Users/brooke/Desktop/Get iPlayer Automator.app/Contents/Resources/rtmpdump-2.4. I downloaded a pile of ITV programs in January, although that was with an earlier version of GiA. I remember having the same symptoms - at first ITV downloads worked and then stopped. So, this suggests the problem isn't with my ISP or connection. I have attached his logs and a screen pic of his downloads folder. Now, he can't get any ITV downloads to work.
He ran the RTMP command from Terminal and got the same "RTMP_ReadPacket, failed to read RTMP packet header" error.
Everything seems fine but the show doesn't download. It will download up to ten shows and automatically retry failed downloads. He ran another test on the following day and he encountered the same problem as I have been getting. iPlayer-DL Automator is an easy-to-use application allowing you to download shows from the BBC iPlayer website. After a restart, GiA successfully ran and downloaded an ITV program.
The first time he ran GiA, his Mac laptop crashed. He uses a different ISP (but is also located in Canberra). Sorry for the delay in replying but, a friend has done a test of GiA for me. NOTE: You must do the above immediately after the download fails in GiA, before the authentication token expires. GiA may be swallowing those lines for some reason, but there is no way for me to replicate your situation, so difficult to say. If your connections are being rejected or dropped for some reason, there should be some more information after the line beginning with "INFO: Connected.". This will re-run the necessary rtmpdump command unmediated by GiA. Copy everything after 'DEBUG: RTMPDump command: ' and paste it at a command prompt, then hit Return to run rtmpdump.
